TONY SERIO
Tony Serio paints cityscapes of his neighborhood in Washington Heights and views of the Hudson from his window. Recently, he has been working by the Hudson River capturing people socializing and playing sports on the greenway. Working both indoors and outdoors, he develops large canvases that use rich physical paint to define the light and carve out space evoking a memory of the place. Serio has shown extensively in Manhattan and is a member of the Bowery gallery in Chelsea. He has received two grants from the Northern Manhattan Arts Alliance (NoMMA). The most recent grant funded his “Hudson River Greenway Landscapes” series.
